Elected, chosen by the people

Our democracy is based on a periodic voting system where people elect their representatives on all levels of government. Citizens become voters during this process. The living world of people and society chooses their representative in the elected councils in the system world.

In this imaginary and virtual world of chess pieces, the black pawn (the representative), is chosen by white pawns (the citizens), speaking for the people, communicating with the people, working for the people.

Same height. Other basic colour. But… both pawns. More than once black pawns look into the mirror and they do see kings and queens instead. That is where it goes wrong and they become islands in a sea of powers and get disconnected with people and society. So, back-to-basics.  A reflection from behind the chess board.
